Description

Integrity Staffing Services is seeking Roving Firewatch personnel to support operations at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY). The Firewatch plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of shipyard personnel, equipment, and vessels by monitoring designated work areas, identifying hazards, and responding quickly to potential fire risks. This position requires vigilance, accountability, and a commitment to safety in a high-security, industrial environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must have a Security Clearance 
  • Must be able to obtain badging for NNSY.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (required for access to Naval Shipyard).
  • Prior Firewatch or industrial safety experience preferred, but not required (training provided).
  • Must be able to remain alert and focused during long shifts.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in shipyard/industrial environments (exposure to weather, confined spaces, elevated areas).
  • Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain constant patrol of assigned areas to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations.
  • Monitor hot work (welding, cutting, grinding, etc.) to prevent fire hazards.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions, hazards, or incidents immediately.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately in the event of a fire or emergency.
  • Complete required documentation, logs, and incident reports accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, shipyard personnel, and other team members.
  • Assist in ensuring all equipment, tools, and fire suppression systems are in place and functional.
Shift Information:
  • Coverage is required 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Multiple shifts available (1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts).
Pay Rate: 
  • $23.46/hour
