This will be an in-office position in Saginaw, Michigan.Position SummaryThe Firm Accountant performs day-to-day accounting functions for the firm's internal accounting needs; records transactions within established systems and procedures, manages the computerized internal accounting system, assists the Chief Financial Officer with financial reporting and analysis, and maintains statistical and financial records.Key ObjectivesGeneral Ledger; prepare and enter all journal entries for four affiliatesReceive and handle daily accounting mailAccounts Receivable; process, record & reconcile daily cash receipts; manage the printing of monthly statements; process A/R adjustments as necessary; billing for one affiliateProcess and coding of miscellaneous non-client cash receiptsAccounts Payable; including ACH payments and code and enter firm credit card transactions.Various account reconciliationsFixed assets; coordinate entry into fixed asset software; reconciliation of assets and depreciation to general ledgerGrowing use and knowledge of applicable firm technology, paperless systems, tools and processesDevelop an awareness of the Firm's vision, core values and business strategiesManage banking with the various firm bank accountsHandle daily/weekly cash management; moving money as necessary within standards and guidelinesAssist management to reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis with accuracy and within deadlinesVerify and enter detailed transactions as they occur in accounting softwareWithholding & use tax remittance for several states, including tax reconciliations & related filingsMeet and exceed goals set forth through the annual performance evaluation processQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting3+ years' experience in accounting and bookkeeping in office settingExcellent organizational and administrative skillsAbility to deal sensitively with confidential materialPreferred AbilitiesExperience with accounts payableCommunicate effectively in a variety of professional situationsParticipate actively in all on-the-job and formal learning and development opportunities to understand role and responsibilitiesAbility to accept and adjust to changing priorities and circumstancesCapable of managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detailLeadershipTake charge and be action-oriented and persist until the task or job is completedLearn and understand how position is critical to the success of the Firm and be willing to accept responsibility and be accountable for own actionsTechnologyFamiliarity with MS Office particularly ExcelUnderstand and stay current on new technologyIncorporate new techniques and ensure minimal disruptions to productivityAt Yeo & Yeo, we offer a great career with industry-leading benefits, and that's why we're repeatedly ranked among Michigan's Best Places to Work.Some of our benefits include flexible work options; competitive salaries; generous PDO/paid holidays, excellent medical, dental and vision plans; bonuses; referral programs; life insurance; 401(k) plan; an award-winning CPA certification program; community service opportunities; dress for your day attire; continuous feedback and so much more.We focus on developing our careers and prioritize fostering each person's unique talents and strengths.
