Constellation Search Group is looking for a Firmware Engineer II for a full-time direct hire position. This role involves working within a global technology company that specializes in highly engineered power conversion, control, and embedded solutions used across various industries. The Firmware Engineer II will focus on embedded firmware development for power electronics and microcontroller-based systems, collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams. They will contribute to new product development and provide support for existing products.
Responsibilities:- Develop embedded firmware using C and low-level programming in microcontroller environments, including bare-metal systems.
- Design, troubleshoot, and debug embedded hardware and software systems.
- Collaborate with electrical, hardware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Participate in software design reviews, testing, documentation, and code maintenance activities.
- Support root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and manufacturing test support for existing products.
- Contribute to software architecture, maintainability, and ongoing code reviews.
- Work with power electronics concepts including AC/DC conversion, power factor correction, digital and analog control systems, and related circuitry.
Qualifications:- Experience with embedded C programming and in-circuit debugging.
- Familiarity with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, and I2C.
- Understanding of embedded systems, microcontrollers, and hardware/software integration.
- Experience reading schematics and performing basic circuit analysis.
- Exposure to power electronics or power supply systems is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with object-oriented programming concepts and scripting languages is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Strong academic background preferred.
- Combination of lab and office environment supporting hardware and firmware development.
