ATSS has openings for First Class Outside Machinistsat our client’s Pascagoula, MS facility.
Must haves:
Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Be able to read/write/communicate in English
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
Preferred Design Disciplines:
Prior Shipyard experience a minimum of 4 or more years of experience as an outside machinist.
Job Description:
Installs, aligns, and repairs ship machinery such as propelling machinery, auxiliary motors, pumps, ventilating equipment, steering gear, laundry and galley equipment, working from blueprints and using hand tools, calipers and micrometers. lays out passage holes on bulkheads, decks, and other surfaces for connection such as shafting and steam lines. Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and rudder and steering engine assemblies.
A Plus if you have experience with Operating lathes, milling machines, drill press, surface grinding, blueprint reading, must be able to machine threads and cut tapered shafts
