ATSS has a client in Mobile, AL looking for First Class Painter Blasters.
Must have 3-5 years of recent experience as a First Class Painter Blaster in the ship building / ship repair industry.
Brief Summary
- Perform surface preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates by use of hand tools, power tools, high-pressure washing, and abrasive blasting equipment.
- Paint surfaces of vessels' interior and exterior, components, and equipment by use of brushes, rollers, airless spray, and conventional spray.
- Properly mix marine and/or protective coatings such as zincs, zinc-rich epoxy, epoxies, polyurethane, polysiloxane, and antifoulants according to the paint manufactures recommendations.
- Assist in loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and paint.
- Operate and maintain paint equipment such as airless spray pots, conventional spray pots and spray guns.
- Operate and maintain abrasive blasting equipment such as blast pots, blast hoses, hood air manifolds, and air compressors.
- Mask to protect components and equipment from damage during blast and paint operations.
- At all times perform his/her work in the safest and most timely manner. Immediately correct any unsafe conditions and report to his/her supervisor.
- Keep the job site clean by keeping it clear of all trash, and unused paint materials and properly disposing of waste paint materials.
- Overtime is required as needed.
Candidates should have relevant experience and certifications as required for the craft.
Work Hours:
Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime and weekend work as needed.
Pay Rate:
DOE and interview. The pay for 1st class will fall within a range of 23.25 – 29.00, which will be determined at the time of the interview.
