We are seeking a Hawaii-based attorney who values the flexibility of remote work while serving clients throughout the state. We are open to discussing alternative working arrangements with qualified candidates.

Note

Applicants must hold an active Hawaii bar license and have at least 1 year of direct experience handling first-party property insurance claims. Experience representing policyholders in property damage insurance disputes is especially valuable.

Job Description

• Represent clients in first-party property insurance claims involving residential and commercial property damage.
• Evaluate insurance policies, coverage issues, claim denials, and underpaid property damage claims.
• Develop legal strategies to pursue insurance benefits and resolve disputes with insurance carriers.
• Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable outcomes on behalf of policyholders.
• Manage cases from initial evaluation through negotiation, litigation, and resolution.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to deliver responsive, high-quality legal representation.
• Build trusted client relationships by providing practical guidance and clear communication throughout the claims process.

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii bar license in good standing.
• 1+ years of experience handling first-party property insurance claims.
• Experience evaluating insurance coverage, disputed claims, or property damage losses.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating effectively with a legal team.
• Excellent client communication skills and a genuine commitment to client advocacy.
• Prior experience representing policyholders, handling insurance bad faith claims, or litigating property insurance disputes is preferred.
