CSS, Inc. is looking for a qualified candidate to support the Fisheries Statistics Division (FSD) of NOAA's Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC). This individual will provide data management, analytical, and scientific support.ResponsibilitiesDistribute, receive, quality control, and finalize commercial fishermen's logbooks that are required to be submitted to the SEFSCSupport FERS Registration of Permit holders and e-Trip application testingAssist in the analysis and extraction of logbook data using SQL and standard statistical programs such as SAS or RParticipate in outreach events such as Open Houses, Youth/Career Fairs, etc. in order to explain logbook program goals and methods to the publicPresent, facilitate, or participate in various electronic logbook reporting related workshops, scientific and technological meetings, symposiums, and public forums.QualificationsMS Degree in Marine Science or a related field; OR BS Degree plus three years of relevant experience.Proficient with common word processing, database, statistical, and graphics software.Knowledge of SQL and standard statistical programs such as SAS or RAbility to apply basic concepts, principles and methodologies to independently perform scientific tasks using standard methods and techniquesExperience collecting catch and effort information from commercial fishers preferredAbility to pass a National Agency Check (NACI) and maintain it throughout the duration of employment.At CSS, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and merit-based workplace.
