Position Overview:

Recreation and Wellness seek a Student Worker to support the Fitness Center at Campus Town. This role helps ensure (key outcomes).

Responsibilities: USE BULLETS

  • Providing excellent customer service through interaction with users of this building while working in weight room and front desk

  • Know and enforce rules based on the Fitness Center Employee Handbook

  • Attend all staff orientations and in-service training

  • Be punctual and conduct yourself in a professional manner

  • Attend to any incidents or accidents, record any and all information that is relative

  • Complete all paperwork/Google logs and file electronically, if appropriate (daily report, incidents, accidents, head counts/usage, memberships, roves, etc.), as well as reservations, equipment, and key sign in/out procedures should be completed per staff trainings

Learning Objectives:

  • Enhance communication and customer service skills

  • Establish self-time management practices

  • Develop teamwork strategies and recognize its value in the workplace

Required Qualifications: USE BULLETS

  • Must be a current The College of New Jersey Student

  • Successfully complete or renewed CPR, First Aid, and AED training

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to at least 50-pounds as a single piece, in the facility and return them to their racks or proper storage location

Preferred Qualifications: USE BULLETS

  • Ability to interact well with large working groups
