About the Role
Hyperion is seeking a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc.) and Body Mechanics Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kinesiology or exercise education and experience as a group class instructor (CrossFit, Functional Fitness, etc.). We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals and is flexible in their teaching styles and modalities.
We are currently looking for instructors to teach on weekday evenings.
The trainer will lead group fitness classes while providing guidance and support to our members and guests.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and implement safe and effective exercise programs for class participants of all fitness levels
- Lead group fitness instruction
- Provide guidance and support to class participants to help them achieve their fitness goals
- Ensure all equipment is clean and in good working condition; alert management if there are concerns
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and research to continuously improve the quality of service provided
Qualifications
- Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, NSCA. ISSA, etc.)
- Education or background in kinesiology or body mechanics
- Experience as a group class instructor
- Strong understanding of proper form, technique, and safety considerations
- Flexible in teaching styles and modalities
- Available to reliably teach at the scheduled class times
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in relevant areas such as Yoga, Pilates, Mobility, or Strength and Conditioning
- Experience with a variety of training modalities such as HIIT, strength training, and cardio
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their fitness goals
Compensation
- Starting pay is $40 per hour, classes are 60 minutes each with additional time allowed for arriving early to set up and staying a little after. Instructor individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to; facility location and type, membership volume, experience, and job/position tenure.
