    Job Description

    Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center.

    The pay rate for this position is $46,500 or $22.36/hour. The work week is Monday-Friday and candidates should be able to work schedules from 6a.m.-2p.m. , 9a.m.-5 p.m. and 11a.m. -7p.m. on alternating days

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supervise exercise areas
    • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
    • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
    • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
    • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
    • Explain all equipment
    • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
    • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
    • Adhere to client's policies and procedures
    • Attend staff meetings
    • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
    • Perform daily administrative duties

    Qualifications:

    • B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field, and
    • National fitness certification accredited by NCCA (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - can be obtained within 90 days of hire
    • Active CPR certification
    • 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to this location being a federal agency that requires citizenship as part of its security clearance
