Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health/fitness center. This position is an on-site position located in Atlanta, GA. The pay rate for this position is $22.84/hour. The work week is Monday-Friday, 8 hours a day, 40 work hours a week. Responsibilities include: - Teach group fitness classes
- Conduct personal training sessions
- Supervise exercise areas
- Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
- Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
- Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
- Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
- Explain all equipment
- Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
- Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
- Adhere to client’s policies and procedures
- Attend staff meetings
- Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
- Perform daily administrative duties
Qualifications: - B.S. in Exercise Physiology or in related health/fitness field, and
- National fitness certification accredited by NCCA (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM or NSCA) - can be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Active CPR certification
- 0-1 year experience in supervising adults during exercises
