This position is primarily based at Hidden Creek Community Center, with possible scheduled shifts at Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC) as needed.

Position Overview & Key Responsibilities
As the Lead Fitness Trainer, youll serve as the primary coordinator for the Citys personal training program while continuing to provide one-on-one and group fitness instruction. Youll mentor fellow trainers, support daily fitness center operations, promote programs and events, and help ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for every participant.
This position performs work within both the Instructor II and Instructor III classifications. The role includes a combination of direct instruction, program coordination, lead worker responsibilities, and operational support.

Job Classification
This position performs duties within both the Instructor II and Instructor III classifications. The position primarily supports Instructor II level fitness instruction responsibilities and will also perform Instructor III level lead worker and program coordination duties. Specific assignments may fluctuate based on department needs.

Work Environment & Schedule
This position is primarily assigned to Hidden Creek Community Center; however, hours may also be available or required at Shute Park Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC) as needed.
Typical scheduled hours include:
Monday: 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Thursday: 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Schedule may change based on operational needs and client demand.
Occasional evening and weekend shifts are required.
Provides backup coverage for fitness classes and personal training services as needed.
Physical activity includes standing for extended periods, demonstrating exercises, moving equipment, and maintaining fitness spaces.

Bilingual Incentive Pay Available
Employees who can demonstrate the ability to speak Spanish, ASL, or any other language spoken by over 10% of the City residents as documented by the most recent U.S. Census, will receive a monthly 3% premium pay. The incentive is only paid on hours in paid status. Proficiency will be determined by a City-administered test.
