Camp Berryessa is looking for an
energetic, motivating, and dependable Group Fitness Trainer who can bring the energy and create an experience that keeps members coming back.
Our trainers are more than instructors — they're coaches, motivators, and an important part of our community. We're looking for people who can
command a room, connect with members, motivate all fitness levels, and make every workout an experience.
Whether you're an experienced trainer or a newer coach looking for an opportunity to develop, we're interested in people who bring the right attitude, energy, and passion for fitness.
What You'll Do
- Lead high-energy, HIIT-style group fitness classes
- Coach proper exercise technique and provide modifications when needed
- Motivate and engage members throughout the entire workout
- Create an inclusive, positive, and energetic class environment
- Build relationships with members and help strengthen our gym community
- Help members stay accountable and engaged in their fitness goals
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment
- Represent Camp Berryessa professionally in and outside of class
Schedule & Availability
This is a
part-time coaching position, with trainers scheduled based on class coverage needs and individual availability.
Classes are offered at various times, including:
- Early mornings: Classes begin as early as 5:00 AM
- Evenings: Classes are offered between approximately 5:00 PM–8:30 PM
- Weekends: Additional opportunities may be available
Trainers may be scheduled for
individual classes or multiple classes, depending on availability and business needs.
You are not expected to be available for the entire morning or evening schedule.
We're especially interested in trainers who can commit to
consistent weekly class times.
What We're Looking For
- High-energy, positive, and motivating personality
- Comfortable coaching and speaking in front of groups
- Ability to command a room and keep members engaged
- Dependable and able to consistently cover committed class times
- Knowledge of strength training, conditioning, and proper exercise technique
- Comfortable coaching members with different fitness levels and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented and willing to contribute to the Camp Berryessa community
Personal training or group fitness certification is preferred.
CPR/AED certification is preferred or must be obtained within an agreed-upon timeframe.

- Core training

- Boxing/kickboxing
- Pilates or other specialty fitness formats
- Trainer-developed programs and workshops
Trainers who demonstrate strong member engagement, reliability, and coaching ability may have opportunities to take on additional classes and specialty programming.
