Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Fitter/Fabricator role in Sherwood, OR. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation and a commitment to delivering the highest quality products. With a focus on continuous improvement, they pride themselves on maintaining excellence at every stage of their manufacturing process.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to determine project specifications.
  • Fit, align, and assemble metal components and structures according to engineering requirements.
  • Operate welding machines (MIG, TIG, and Stick), grinders, plasma cutters, and other fabrication tools.
  • Measure and mark materials for cutting, bending, and drilling using precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform tack welding and final welding on heavy equipment components.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure all fabricated parts meet required tolerances and specifications.
  • Work closely with welders, machinists, and production teams to complete fabrication projects efficiently.
  • Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and best practices for fabrication and welding.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Fitter/Fabricator in heavy equipment, structural, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and GD&T specifications.
  • Experience operating metal fabrication equipment, including saws, shears, and press brakes.
  • Skilled in grinding, cutting, drilling, and forming metal components.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and overhead.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Welding certification (AWS, ASME, or similar) preferred.
  • Experience with large-scale fabrication and heavy equipment manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and metalworking best practices.
