Fitter/Welder

Currently seeking fitter/welders on the west side of Cleveland! The Fitter / Welder will need to have manual dexterity and the ability to use hand and power tools as needed. Various welding equipment, will be used, such as MIG, TIG, stick welders, air arc machine and cutting torches. Must be able to read engineering sketches and drawings, understand welding symbols.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

? Lay out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.

? Determines required equipment, welding method and welding techniques.

? Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.

? Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.

? Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies.

? Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.

? Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

? Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.

? Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring

instruments.

? Follow blueprints to arrange metal pieces and temporarily fix them into position before welding.

? Keep work area clean and organized.

? Make recommendations for process improvements.

? Perform equipment inspections prior to use.

? Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Plant and/or Maintenance Manager.

? Work accordingly to meet Safety and Quality goals.

? Work with team to balance workload to meet On Time Delivery goals.

? Manage company resources to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.

? Deburr and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.

? Maintain professionalism in speech and action at all times.

? Required to follow all company policies.
