Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fitter / Welder to join our fabrication team. The Fitter / Welder will be responsible for fitting, assembling, and welding metal components according to drawings, specifications, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions
  • Fit, align, and assemble structural and fabricated metal components
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding as required
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication
  • Use grinders, cutting tools, drills, and other fabrication equipment
  • Set up and operate welding machines and related equipment
  • Inspect welds and finished assemblies for quality and accuracy
  • Make adjustments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and dimensions
  • Perform basic welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a fitter, welder, fabricator, or similar manufacturing position preferred
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, calipers, and other measuring tools
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes
  • Mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move materials as required
  • Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE
