Schedule: Monday-Thursday | Day Shift 6am-4:30pm Nights 6pm-4:30am

Fitter Welder Must-Have Requirements
- Experience fitting and welding structural steel components
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols
- Experience using measuring tools to verify dimensions and fit-up
- Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety
Fitter Welder Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fitter Welder to join our fabrication team. This position is responsible for laying out, fitting, and welding structural steel components used in heavy industrial equipment and fabricated assemblies. The ideal candidate has experience reading shop drawings, performing accurate fit-up, and producing quality welds while meeting production schedules in a safety-focused manufacturing environment. ( This is a non climate controlled environment.)
Fitter Welder Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fit-Up & Fabrication
- Lay out, fit, and weld structural steel components according to shop drawings
- Verify material size, dimensions, and lengths before fabrication
- Inspect hole locations, hole gauges, and ensure all parts are properly deburred
- Check miter cuts, block-out radiuses, bent flanges, and laminated beams for accuracy
- Position and align components for proper fit-up prior to welding
- Ensure piece marks are correctly identified and located
Quality & Inspection
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions
- Perform dimensional checks throughout the fabrication process
- Assist quality inspectors during inspections
- Identify and report material or fabrication issues before final assembly
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and accuracy
Safety & Production
- Safely operate hand tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Properly care for tools and return equipment to designated locations
- Follow all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
Fitter Welder Additional Qualifications
- Previous experience in structural steel fabrication preferred
- Experience fitting machinery frames, structural assemblies, or heavy fabricated components is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment
- Safety-sensitive position requiring adherence to all workplace safety policies
