Fixed Asset Accountant

A leading, rapidly expanding publicly traded organization in The Woodlands is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to support a surge in capital projects and increased asset complexity. This is a high-visibility contract engagement with strong potential for permanent hire.
If you are experienced with fixed assets, lease accounting (ASC 842), and project-based accounting activity, and have worked in Oracle Cloud Fusion (highly preferred), this is a priority role with immediate interview availability.

Key Responsibilities
Support month-end close (5-day close cycle) including journal entries and reconciliations
Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including capitalization and asset tracking (ASC 360)
Analyze and process lease accounting transactions under ASC 842
Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and account clean-up efforts
Assist with project-based accounting activity and clearing historical/general ledger balances
Review and approve coding for purchase requisitions
Maintain detailed documentation to support SOX compliance and audit readiness
Partner cross-functionally to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve processes
Support external and internal audit requests
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
2-4+ years of accounting experience (public accounting or public company preferred)
Strong experience in:
Fixed Assets
Lease Accounting (ASC 842)
Month-end close
Account reconciliations & variance analysis
Oracle Cloud Fusion experience highly preferred
Experience with large ERP systems required
Knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 controls
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with deadlines
Compensation & Details
$36 - $45/hour (contract)
Potential conversion: $75K - $95K base + 5-8% bonus
