Girls Flag Football Head Coach
Shaw High School is looking for an enthusiastic and structured girls Flag Football coach who would be responsible for coaching high school student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for flag football games. In addition, motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Previous interscholastic high school and/or youth soccer coaching experience.
- Appropriate C.P.R. and Pupil Activity Certification prior to beginning of season.
- Strong knowledge of flag football skills, fundamentals, rules, etc.
- Must be willing to commit to evening and weekend practices and events as dictated by the athletic season schedule.
Desired:
- Valid Ohio teaching licensure;
- Valid USA Football Certification - Flag Football;
- Successful experience as a teacher;
- Current East Cleveland City School District full-time contract teacher.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
- Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
- Assesses player''s skills and assigns team positions.
- Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development.
- Help maintain the football turf, stadium and gymnasium. Will have to keep areas clean from debri and liquids.
- Coach and instruct players, individually and in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met; and encourages student athletes to maintain a high academic standard.
- Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete''s injury.
- Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their student.
- Follows state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Teach proper sportsmanship is vital.
- Follows established procedures for the proper care, maintenance, and requisitioning of equipment, supplies, and uniforms. Coaches are expected to keep an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment.
- Works with the Athletic Director to develop a policy for awards and submits a list of award winners at the end of the season.
- Participates in special activities to include fundraising, parent''s night, banquets, award nights, and pep rallies.
- Must communicate regularly with ATHLETIC director via email: school announcements, bus request and roster status.
- Continues professional growth through clinics and professional publications.
