Job Title: FLASH Lab Technician

Job Description

The FLASH Lab Technician supports the production of laboratory kits in a regulated environment, ensuring they are manufactured accurately, safely, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA requirements. This role involves hands-on work with biological materials, laboratory equipment, and documentation to maintain consistent product quality and support technical troubleshooting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Produce laboratory kits in a timely manner in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and established procedures.
  • Verify that all required raw materials, including chemicals, antigens, serums, and plasmas, are available and prepared for production.
  • Carefully follow and accurately complete all procedures in compliance with FDA requirements and internal documentation standards.
  • Maintain and update all relevant documents, ensuring they remain current and reflect the latest procedures and requirements.
  • Participate in cycle counts to help maintain accurate inventory of materials and kits.
  • Review data generated from kit production to confirm that products meet quality and consistency standards.
  • Assist Technical Services in troubleshooting issues related to kit performance or production processes as needed.
  • Facilitate sample testing and kit testing in response to customer complaints or specific customer requirements.
  • Collaborate and interact effectively with all other departments to support smooth production and problem resolution.
  • Apply good laboratory practices to maintain a safe and orderly work environment for all employees.

Essential Skills

  • Academic biology laboratory experience with hands-on work in a lab setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with sample preparation and handling in a laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in pipetting techniques, including accurate use of pipettes for liquid handling.
  • Experience working with laboratory glassware, labware, and standard lab equipment.
  • Basic working knowledge of Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, and aseptic technique.
  • Ability to read and follow written directions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including the creation of dilutions.
  • Ability to operate and maintain machines such as automated plate washers, plate readers, and pH meters.
  • Basic computer skills to support documentation and data entry tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, consistent products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree, with a Bachelor's degree in Biology preferred.
  • Science background with prior laboratory experience required.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and FDA-regulated environments is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to good laboratory practices to support a safe and compliant workplace.

Work Environment

This role is based in a laboratory production environment that requires regular use of lab equipment such as pipettes, glassware, automated plate washers, plate readers, and pH meters. The position follows a structured schedule of 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Friday, for a 35-hour work week. The work involves handling biological materials and chemicals while adhering to good laboratory practices and safety procedures. The technician collaborates with multiple departments and works within a regulated setting focused on quality, consistency, and compliance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Branchburg, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
