Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Flatwork Finishing Operator / Folder to join our team. The Flatwork Finishing Operator / Folder receives, inspects, feeds, folds, stacks, and stages clean healthcare linen according to established classifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and department procedures. This position plays an important role in ensuring clean lines are processed efficiently, accurately, and safely for healthcare customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort clean damp linen by finishing classification and preparing items for processing.
- Feed ironers and small-piece finishing machines with flatwork, towels, scrubs, gowns, and similar linen items.
- Receive, fold, stack, and place finished items on the appropriate cart or designated work area.
- Stack like items in required quantities from the transfer belt and move carts to assigned areas.
- Monitor linen, equipment, and work areas for quality, cleanliness, and safety.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly work area throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety procedures, policies, SOPs, JHAs, and work instructions.
- Rotate among assigned production positions as needed.
- Assist with other departmental duties and special assignments as required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read, write, count, and understand department instructions, forms, charts, procedures, and work directions.
- Ability to follow instructions and consistently meet established quality and production standards.
- Ability to work safely around industrial machinery, moving equipment, and linen carts.
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy, fast-paced industrial laundry environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One to two years of experience in manufacturing, production, industrial laundry, hospitality, healthcare services, or a related service environment.
- Previous experience operating production or finishing equipment.
- Experience working in an environment with established production and quality standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, feed, fold, stack, push, pull, and maneuver carts for extended periods.
- Regularly lift damp or finished linen weighing approximately 20 to 40 pounds.
- Push, pull, and maneuver clean-linen carts weighing approximately 450 pounds.
- Push, pull, and maneuver empty carts weighing approximately 100 pounds.
- Ability to work 10-hour shifts, with overtime as required.
- Ability to work a rotating, nonstandard schedule consisting of five consecutive workdays followed by three consecutive days off. For example, employees may work Monday through Friday, take Saturday through Monday off, and return Tuesday through Saturday.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the position for the full shift while consistently maintaining required quality and production standards.

- Bath Blankets: 500 per hour
- Bath Towels: 700 per hour
- Gowns: 350 per hour
- Hand-Fold Gowns: 250 per hour
- Loose Knitted Fitted: 600 per hour
- Pillowcases: 900 per hour
- Scrub Pants: 350 per hour
- Scrub Tops: 350 per hour
- Sheets: 450 per hour
- Spreads: 500 per hour
- Washcloths: 1,000 per hour
Work Environment:
Work is performed in an industrial healthcare laundry facility with exposure to clean linen, industrial equipment, moving machinery, noise, humidity, odors, lint, dust, chemicals, and temperature variations.
Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as directed, including:
