Tow Pros of South Florida is seeking a dependable Fleet Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair tow trucks and service vehicles used in daily roadside assistance operations. This position plays an important role in keeping the fleet safe, operational, and ready to respond to customer calls throughout South Florida. The ideal candidate has experience working with hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, towing equipment, electrical systems, and preventive vehicle maintenance in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on tow trucks and company vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues
- Repair engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and towing equipment as needed
- Conduct oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and battery replacements
- Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
- Inspect vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Coordinate parts ordering and maintain inventory of shop supplies and tools
- Respond to urgent repair needs to minimize vehicle downtime and support daily operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or automotive technician preferred
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, towing equipment, and commercial vehicle maintenance
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and repair equipment safely
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in indoor and outdoor environments
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends when needed
