    Description

    Job Summary

    The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company-owned trailers, with secondary support for truck maintenance. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and compliance of fleet equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet trailers (primary focus) and Class 8 diesel trucks

    • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on trailers and fleet equipment

    • Perform brake, suspension, lighting, and structural repairs on trailers

    • Conduct FHWA/DOT inspections and ensure regulatory compliance

    • Troubleshoot failures and complete timely repairs to minimize downtime

    • Perform tire changes and general service as needed

    • Complete welding and fabrication work for trailer repairs and modifications

    • Maintain accurate service records and inspection documentation

    • Follow company safety standards and ensure all work is performed safely

    • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in trailer, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance

    • Strong knowledge of trailer systems (brakes, suspension, electrical)

    • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues

    • Welding and fabrication experience preferred

    • Experience with DOT/FHWA inspections preferred

    • Must have own tools (as applicable)

    • Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus, if applicable)

    • Strong attention to safety and detail

    Work Schedule & Compensation

    Full-time; typical schedule: Monday–Friday (e.g., 7:00am – 5:30pm). Hourly pay aligned to experience.
