Omari Construction / Omari Exteriors is looking to contract with an independent mobile mechanic or fleet service business to maintain our commercial vehicle fleet across our operating locations.
This is a subcontractor opportunity, not an employee position. We're looking to establish an ongoing working relationship with a self-employed mechanic or an established mobile fleet service business — someone who runs their own operation, carries their own insurance and tools, and wants steady, recurring work servicing a growing commercial fleet.
What This Is
- Blanket subcontractor agreement — work is assigned via task order as needed, no fixed term, either party can end the arrangement at any time
- You invoice us for completed work; we don't withhold taxes or provide employee benefits
- You bring your own tools, diagnostic equipment, and (for most assignments) your own vehicle
- You're free to take on other clients — this isn't exclusive
Scope of Work
- Routine tune-ups, fluid/filter service, belts and hoses
- Brake, tire (including plugs/patches), and differential repair
- Electrical diagnostics and repair
- Vehicle upgrade installs — dash cams, GPS trackers, ladder rack assembly and installation, hitches, lighting, device mounts
- Pre-purchase vehicle inspections, occasionally including out-of-region travel
- Roadside support for stranded field personnel
- Decal install/removal coordination and related fleet logistics
Territory
Primary service area: our company locations. Occasional out-of-region travel for vehicle pickups, compensated separately.
Rates
- $34/hour — standard maintenance and repair labor
- $34/hour — emergency/same-day roadside response
- $272/full day, $136/half day or less — vehicle pre-purchase inspections
- $272/day — out-of-region vehicle pickup travel
- IRS standard mileage rate when using your own vehicle
- Tolls and parking reimbursed at cost
- Parts and materials billed at your business's discounted trade cost — no markup added, but no markup taken either; itemized invoicing required
What You Need
- Your own tools and diagnostic equipment
- Commercial general liability and commercial auto insurance (we'll ask for a certificate naming us as additional insured)
- 4+ years of automotive or fleet repair experience
- Comfortable working outdoors, in parking lots and job sites — this isn't shop-bay work
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record
- Willingness to travel within the territory listed above; occasional multi-day trips for out-of-region pickups
Why Work With Us
Steady, recurring assignments across a growing multi-state commercial fleet, straightforward invoicing, and a company that's scaling — meaning more work, not less, over time.
