Fleet Maintenance Technician Performs and undertakes a variety of broad to specific fleet repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of work assignments. The position's essential duties are:
Must be able to perform mechanical maintenance and repair of cars, trucks, and other light, medium and heavy-duty District vehicles, and equipment. Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, or electronic system malfunctions. Performs minor repairs to the brakes, steering front end, and electrical systems of the trucks. Installs new ignition systems, changes, or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts. Repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks. Perform regularly scheduled, emergency repair and/or preventive maintenance work.
