Position Overview
The Fleet Manager ensures strategic oversight and support of day-to-day functionality of company vehicle fleet to maximize company productivity. This person is responsible for managing vendors and budget compliance. They are also responsible for determining annual fleet plans and regulation compliance associated with operating a fleet of commercial vehicles. This position partners closely with Operations, HR, Safety, and Leadership to support field teams and manage risk.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage the Fleet Program of approximately 70 vehicles, which includes establishing strategic fleet plan and budget, procurement and replacement, price negotiations and full cycle continued maintenance.
- Retain power of attorney for vehicle purchasing and DMV purposes.
- Support Fleet Supervisor in administering and maintaining vehicle inventory, telematics, fuel cards, and reporting tools.
- Establish and maintain the vehicle maintenance program, including a system for preventative, routine and emergency maintenance and repairs. Ensure minimum impact on field operation while balancing maintenance costs and increasing logistical efficiency and minimizing staff required to maintain the fleet health.
- Support administration for insurance claims and annual insurance renewal.
- Maintain Fleet related DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Conduct driver onboarding, training, and compliance, with support from Fleet Supervisor.
- Oversee fleet policy updates and accident reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Team Leads, Safety and HR on fleet policy improvements and development, as well as the Fleet Safety Program.
- Support, coach, and develop the Fleet Supervisor, as well as tasks the fleet supervisor is directly responsible for.
- Other fleet, safety, and support tasks as needed
Essential Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of vehicle standards
- Must be highly organized & set priorities
- Proficient with computers and the following applications: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheets, Geotab, and Enterprise leasing.
- Must be able to speak, read and write effectively in English
- Experience managing a team
- Experience operating a forklift and heavy equipment preferred
- Clean Driving Record

- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, this person is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; work with tools; reach with hands and arms; talk and he Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate. Work environment is in office and warehouse. The daily temperature varies from hot to cold depending on the seas
