Position Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring the availability, utilization, and condition of the rental fleet. This role focuses on maximizing uptime, supporting branch operations, and maintaining a cost-efficient, well-balanced fleet.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Metrics
- Utilizationrate
- Downtime / availability
- Turnaround time (ready-to-rent)
- Maintenance cost (<10% of revenue)
- Rental damage billed (target ~3% of revenue, billed on final invoice)
Qualifications
- 5+ years in heavy equipment, rental, or fleet operations.
- Strong understanding of construction equipment.
- Organized, hands-on, anddata-aware.
- Able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
- Advancedproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools.
- Ability to interpretutilization, profitability, and lifecycle management data.
- Strong understanding of capital budgeting and ROI analysis.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to influence decisions across departments and leadership levels.
- Experience with ERP, rental management, and fleet management systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to branch locations as needed.
- Ability to inspect equipment in shop and field environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer equipment for extended periods.
