    Fleet Maintenance Manager – [Conroe, TX] · Full-time · Exempt · $85,000–$100,000/year · [TX/LA Region], regular regional travel · Reports to the Director of Fleet

Since 2018 we've grown into a portable sanitation company working out of 4 states, serving construction sites, homes, special events and disaster relief. We're the official partner of the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium and Florida State Athletics.     The job: You'll run day-to-day fleet maintenance for our [Region] operations. You'll lead the technicians, vendors, parts and preventive maintenance program behind a busy fleet of pump trucks, trailers and specialized equipment. You'll keep the fleet DOT and FMCSA compliant, and work closely with Operations and Safety so our crews always have dependable equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows both the shop and the operation.
     
    What You’ll Do
    • Lead, schedule and develop fleet technicians across multiple state locations
    • Run preventive and corrective maintenance for trucks, trailers, vacuum systems and pumps, and keep PM on schedule
    • Keep the fleet DOT/FMCSA compliant: inspections, defect repairs, roadside inspection follow-up and recordkeeping
    • Track work orders, costs and repairs in Fleetio, and use telematics and fleet data to cut breakdowns and repeat repairs
    • Manage repair shops, dealers, towing, tire and parts vendors, and decide what gets done in-house or outsourced
    • Keep Operations updated on vehicle status and repair timelines, and get the fleet ready for storm and disaster response
    • Bring newly acquired vehicles and locations into our PM programs, inspection standards and Fleetio
    What We’re Looking For
    • 5+ years in fleet, commercial vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance, including leading technicians
    • Strong knowledge of commercial diesel trucks, trailers and vocational equipment, plus PM, diagnostics and inspection practices
    • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA inspection, maintenance and recordkeeping requirements
    • Experience with a fleet maintenance system; Fleetio preferred
    • Strong data and analytical skills: you use numbers to spot trends and make decisions
    • A solid leader and team player with excellent communication skills
    • Valid driver's license that meets our driving requirements, and willing to travel regularly across Texas and Louisiana
    • Preferred: CDL, ASE or DOT inspector credentials, IFTA/IRP filing and compliance experience, and experience with vacuum or sanitation equipment

    As Fleet Maintenance Manager, success goes far beyond keeping the shop busy—it means Operations has the trucks it needs, every day, safely and legally. A successful leader in this role achieves the following:
    • Maximum Fleet Availability: Trucks are ready when Operations needs them, and breakdowns, road calls and downtime trend down.
    • On-Time PM and Inspections: Preventive maintenance and required inspections are completed on schedule, and safety defects are fixed before a vehicle returns to service.
    • Audit-Ready Compliance: Maintenance, inspection and repair records in Fleetio are complete and accurate, so we're always ready for DOT/FMCSA review.
    • Smart Spending: Repair costs, parts, warranties and vendor performance are tracked, and the right work goes in-house or out based on cost and downtime.
    • Consistency as We Grow: [Region] locations, including newly acquired ones, run on the same standards, systems and maintenance programs.

    Physical requirements Regular travel between locations. Walking shop floors and yards, and climbing in and around trucks and equipment to inspect them. Working in shop and outdoor conditions, including heat, rain and cold.
