SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Fleet Manager role will be responsible for managing a fleet of drivers to ensure a flawless execution of services for customers. This includes coordinating and scheduling the pick-up and delivery of loads in a timely and most cost-effective way, as well as ensuring drivers provide excellent customer service. Responsibilities of a Fleet Manager also include holding drivers accountable for operating in a safe manner and complying with company, state and federal policies.
In addition, this role is responsible for supporting business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Problem Resolution - proactively identify and resolve scheduling issues, delivery delays and equipment breakdowns through communications with drivers, customers and operations. Dispatch drivers to ensure efficient asset utilization and route planning Monitoring, correcting, and improving driving behaviors and operations Evaluate driver performance Provide route and operations information Maintain constant communication with drivers Communicate effectively Communicate clearly and respectfully Understand & Communicate expectations of your driver and of yourself Establish a friendly environment Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures Ensure compliance with government rules and regulations and files paperwork in support of this compliance as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Previous trucking industry experience especially managing/dispatching drivers Proficient with computers Knowledge of DOT safety requirements Ability to tolerate high stress situations Strong communication, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills Ability to work in team environment Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment Ability to tolerate high stress situations Dependable Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work professionally and effectively with a diverse group of individuals, both internal and external customers Ability to make sound decisions
