Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics
Under the direction of a Deputy designated by the CEO, plan, organize and direct operations and activities related to the administration of Fleet Services; coordinate the maintenance and repair of County vehicles; coordinate infrastructure development for zero emission vehicle charging; coordinate communications and information to meet the transportation needs of the County; manage, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field, and three (3) years of analytical, fiscal or administrative experience, or public or private fleet operation, automotive dealership or large mechanical shop experience including one (1) year of management or supervisory experience;
OR
Associate's degree in public or business administration or related field, and five (5) years of analytical, fiscal or administrative experience, or public or private fleet operation, automotive dealership or large mechanical shop experience including two (2) years of management or supervisory experience;
OR
Six (6) years of analytical, fiscal or administrative experience, or public or private fleet operation, automotive dealership or large mechanical shop experience including three (3) years of management or supervisory experience.
Valid California Class C driver's license.
Supplemental Information
A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC § 160020. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
This position may require pre-employment drug test, physical examination, and fingerprinting for a background investigation.
