We are looking for a FLEET MECHANIC to join our team in New Orleans, LA. As a Fleet Mechanic with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and comprehensive repairs on diverse fleet assets.  These assets include commercial mixer trucks, trailers, tractors, construction equipment, and specialized machinery.  This role ensures minimal vehicle downtime and compliance with safety regulations.

About the Role 

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine oil changes, fluids, tire rotations, brake inspection and replacements, and safety inspections.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize electronic scanning tools and software to diagnose complex engine, transmission, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • System Repairs: Repair and rebuild braking systems, steering and suspension mechanisms, drivetrains and exhaust.
  • Tire Management: Monitor tire inflation, analyze ware patterns, perform replacements, mount and dismount tire and wheel while following safety protocols to prevent road failures.
  • Record Keeping: Document all repairs, parts usage, inspection results, and maintenance tracking logs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Prepare vehicles for mandated state and federal safety inspections (e.g., DOT compliance)

About You

We Require:

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean record; Commercial Driver's License (CDL A or B) is heavily preferred.
  • Certification: ASE certifications in medium/heavy trucks or equivalent trade school degree is preferred.
  • Tools: Possession of standard personal mechanic toolset, toolbox, and diagnostic equipment.
