Position Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our New York City team. This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing company vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and committed to keeping our fleet operating efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled basic maintenance and inspections on vehicles (cars, vans, and trucks).
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform transport to dealership for repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance and maintain detailed service records.
- Conduct safety and compliance inspections to meet DOT and environmental standards.
- Manage parts inventory and coordinate repair schedules with the operations team.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Assist occasionally with maintenance of field equipment and small engines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or ASE certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a fleet, automotive, or diesel mechanic.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
- Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic computer/tablet skills for logging maintenance and repairs.
