Job Title: FLEET MECHANIC EXEMPT: NO LOCATION: SA/IE/ RIV/ SAC/ChinoHOURS: 8:00am - 5:00pmDEPARTMENT: Fleet DAYS: Monday-Friday SUMMARY: The Fleet Mechanic will inspect, maintain, and repair a variety of company vehicles and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic abilities, hands-on mechanical experience, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:(Other duties may be assigned)Perform repairs on gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, and differentials, including fuel, ignition, electrical, and cooling systems; power transmissions; universal joints; hydraulic units; steering mechanisms; wheel alignments; and emissions control systemsDisassemble, clean, inspect, repair, adjust, and install components; perform routine preventative maintenance on automobiles, trucks, trailers, and related equipmentPerform preventative maintenance on trucks and construction equipmentInspect and repair vehicles to ensure compliance with emissions standardsPerform minor arc and gas welding repairs as neededChange tires and balance wheelsInstall and maintain electrical components, including lighting systems, warning lights, and starting/charging systemsRepair vehicle body and chassis components using hand and power tools; install and repair power take-off equipmentFollow all safety procedures and guidelines at all timesComplete all required documentation accurately and in a timely mannerReplace and adjust headlights; install and repair accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, and windshield wipersReport unsafe work conditions or practices to a supervisor immediatelyMaintain a clean and organized work areaPerform field service calls as needed to keep fleet vehicles and equipment operationalQualification Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
