JDSB Trucking is a Chicago-based intermodal drayage carrier running a 25-truck fleet. We're looking for a hands-on mechanic to own the day-to-day maintenance of our equipment — and grow with us.
What you'll do:
- Build and run PM schedules for the fleet — trucks and chassis — and keep them on track
- Perform daily inspections on trucks and chassis before they hit the road
- Oil changes, chassis lube, and preventive maintenance
- Replace lights, bulbs, and wiring on tractors and trailers
- Basic brake work — brake chambers, slack adjusters, and similar repairs
- Handle tasks as they come in — no two days are the same
Who we're looking for:
A self-starter with ambition. We're not looking for someone who waits to be told what to do — we want someone who builds the plan, walks the yard, catches problems before they become breakdowns, and gets to work. This is heads-down, hands-on work: if you spend more time on your phone than under a truck, this isn't the fit. But if you want to prove yourself, take on more, and grow into bigger responsibility with a growing company, this is a real opportunity.
Requirements:
- Experience with oil changes, chassis lube, and PM work on heavy-duty trucks
- Comfortable with basic brake and light repairs
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required)
- Own basic hand tools (preferred)
- Reliable — shows up on time, every day, ready to work
Pay & growth:
- $25-$30/hour starting
- Performance review at 90 days — prove yourself and the pay follows
- Full-time, steady hours — a 25-truck fleet keeps the work consistent year-round
- Room to grow: we promote effort, ownership, and initiative
