Role Description

Our Client is seeking a dependable Fleet Mechanic to help maintain and repair its fleet of delivery trucks. This position will assist with preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to help keep vehicles operating safely and efficiently.

The Fleet Mechanic will also help maintain accurate service records, track repairs, and ensure Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) are properly documented and addressed.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with tracking all maintenance records and DVIRs.

• Demonstrate excellent communication, listening, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

• Maintain strong interpersonal skills and a self-motivated, highly organized approach to resolving problems.

• Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.

Required Skills/Experience

• Thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.

• Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing.

• Proficiency in diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and A/C systems.

• Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of DOT/FMCSA/CHP regulations for a HAZMAT fleet performing intrastate commerce.

• Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience is a plus.

• Preventive maintenance experience.

• CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements is a plus, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $33-$38 per hour, depending on experience.
