About the Opportunity
Based in Baytown, TX 77523, you will be the point person ensuring our vehicle fleet runs safely, legally, and efficiently every day. If you love orchestrating schedules, sharpening processes, and turning data into action, this is your arena.
A Day in the Life
Your morning starts with reviewing dispatch schedules, maintenance queues, and overnight telematics alerts. You coordinate with technicians and vendors to keep turnaround tight. Midday, you walk the yard for spot checks and coach the team on new safety procedures. In the afternoon, you close out work orders, reconcile invoices, and brief leadership with crisp operational insights.
Throughout the day, you’re the steward of compliance—staying current with local, state, and federal regulations—and the champion of a safety-first culture.
What You’ll Own
- Direct the day-to-day fleet operation: scheduling, preventive maintenance, inspections, and regulatory adherence.
- Create and roll out fleet policies/SOPs that raise the bar on safety, reliability, and performance.
- Track performance via telematics/KPIs and conduct regular vehicle inspections to keep assets mission-ready.
- Coordinate repairs and parts with outside vendors to minimize downtime.
- Manage budgets and expenses; identify and execute cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Train, supervise, and develop fleet staff while reinforcing a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Analyze fleet data and deliver reports that guide operational decisions.
What You Bring
- BA/BS in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven success leading a fleet or similar operations function.
- Proficiency with fleet management/telematics/CMMS tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and people leadership.
- Analytical mindset with strong decision-making ability.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Working knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
