Position Overview

Under supervision, monitors and maintains Montgomery Countys automated fleet maintenance and fueling systems and related software. Performs the material and substantial duties including producing orders, control, distributes, and manages inventory including monitoring and maintaining systems and databases to ensure efficiency and accuracy in tracking and purchasing of all vehicle, equipment, and facilities items.

Summary of Job Duties

Monitors daily system performance; coordinates with software vendor and the Data Center regarding hardware and/or software problems; establishes users in systems and assigns appropriate passwords and system security; provides technical assistance to users of fuel and fleet maintenance systems; trains system users in program or equipment use; assists in developing procedures for optimum system utilization; ensures system backup; maintains database and ensures validity of data; generates reports based on system data; operates computer equipment; updates and maintains user documentation.

Processes vehicle work orders within the vehicle maintenance system; Input, close-out, and print work orders; assist mechanics with questions regarding shop system procedures and codes, and maintains vehicle files in the fleet maintenance system; updates system by uploading/downloading data or transactions from other systems or remote sites.

Input and process billing, pricing, and invoicing as required within the fleet maintenance and fueling system; Receive and process incoming/outgoing invoices using the countys financial system; track all receivables relating to assigned systems; obtain, renew and transfer license plates for county vehicles; obtain, transfer and notarize titles for incoming, outgoing and disposal of county vehicles; maintain vehicle title files; issues preventative maintenance notices, responds to inquiries and problems concerning related systems, performs administrative support duties; orders fuel and office supplies, answer phones and handle routine customer service.

May issue scheduled work orders to mechanics in the absence of the crew leader and assist other Central Services Departments with billings and various administrative duties.

Orders supplies and equipment, maintains inventory records, recommends changes to minimum supply requirements, fills requisitions and conducts physical inventory of supplies and materials, receives inventory supplies and stores in stockroom, delivers supplies and materials within the center complex, operates hand forklift, platform cart and hand truck to unload, store and distribute supplies, maintains an orderly, safe, and clean work area.

Assists with bid work ups and specifications for capital purchases and key performance indicators (KPIs), processes purchase orders (POs), equipment update requests, tracks trends and monitors costs. Coordinates quality checks and inventory returns.

Provides basic database support for inventory management system. Accurately tracks and maintains lifecycle status of all inventory.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Must have current valid drivers license with acceptable driving record. Associates Degree in business or technology and 1 year of work experience in inventory maintenance and control utilizing computer software; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years work experience in inventory maintenance and control utilizing computer software - OR alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Requirements.

Seasonal Employees: Benefits include Sick Leave accrued at 4.6 hours for every eighty 80 hours in active

pay status. Seasonal employees scheduled to work 40 hours during their period of employment will accrue vacation in the same manner as regular full-time employees and can use their vacation after completion of twenty-six (26) bi-weekly pay periods in active pay status. Part-time Seasonal employees (scheduled to work less than 40 hours) do not accrue vacation.

Intermittent and Temporary Employees: Long-Term Sick Leave accrual is based on hours worked.
