FLEET TECHNICIAN I (CIVILIAN).........$5,000

**$2,500 UPON HIRE, AND $2,500 UPON PROBATION COMPLETION**

 

The Fleet Technician I performs operations, technical and administrative duties for the Fleet Services Section.  The most important and essential job function of the position is attitude which includes the following: interacting positively and cooperating with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, functioning under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision.

 

The Fleet Technician I shall perform other related duties and tasks, as required and shall have the physical, mental and emotional abilities to perform the essential job duties of the position.

Essential Functions:
  • Supervise trustees
  • Perform shop maintenance
  • Loan out vehicles
  • Prepare impounded vehicle for release
  • Maintain spare units
  • Function as on call technician
  • Prepares collision damage estimates
  • Install and remove decals on equipment
  • Perform automotive maintenance and repair
  • Perform collision damage repair
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment
  • Perform emergency equipment repair and installation
  • Perform welding
  • Perform removal of equipment
  • Perform maintenance on other equipment
  • Process work orders
  • Respond during natural disasters
  • Work flexible hours
Education, Professional Certification or License:
  • High School or GED
  • *ASE Certification preferred
  • Florida driver’s license, CDL preferred
  • Must attain sixteen (16) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on an annual basis through online or classroom instruction
Professional Experience:
  • Two (2) years’ documented experience in the automotive or collision repair field, or completed an automotive or collision repair program from a technical college or vocational school.
