LJP Waste Solutions is seeking a dependable and skilled Fleet Technician to support the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of company vehicles and equipment. This role is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing repairs, and ensuring fleet vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards. The Fleet Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting operational efficiency, and extending the lifespan of fleet assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a fast-paced maintenance environment. Responsibilities Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles including trucks, trailers, and service vehiclesDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic software, tools, and equipmentPerform preventative maintenance according to established schedules and company standardsComplete repairs involving brakes, engines, transmissions, suspensions, tires, HVAC systems, and related componentsDocument work performed, parts utilized, inspections, and service recommendations accurately within maintenance systemsEnsure fleet vehicles remain compliant with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company operational requirementsMonitor parts inventory, tools, and equipment while communicating maintenance needs to supervisorsRespond to roadside breakdowns, emergency repairs, or urgent maintenance situations as requiredAssist with vehicle inspections, licensing documentation, and maintenance compliance recordsMaintain clean, safe, and organized shop and work environmentsCollaborate with operations, drivers, and maintenance leadership to support fleet reliability and operational efficiencyFollow OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety policies and procedures at all timesPerform additional maintenance and repair duties as assigned
