Description
The purpose of this position is to perform skilled electrical, mechanical, and fabrication work to install, configure, test, and maintain specialized equipment in County fleet vehicles under the general supervision of the Upfitter Lead. Ensures vehicles are safely equipped and operational in accordance with County standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable safety requirements to support public safety and County operations. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Typical Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Preferred Certifications:
ASE Electrical/Electronic Systems (A6) Certification.
ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Electrical Systems (T6) Certification.
Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) Certification.
SoundOff Signal Blueprint, Whelen CenCom, or similar manufacturer certification.
OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Certification or equivalent safety training.

Supplemental Information
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
