Position Summary

BCI is seeking candidates for a chemical blending position in an industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. Candidates must be self-motivated while able to work independently and in a team environment. The Flex Operator will have manufacturing and warehouse duties, along with duties in one or more specialty fields. Daily activity will be directed by a manager, supervisor, or team lead and will include hands-on, information, and other activities as needed. The ability to increase contribution by mastering skills and learning new information is critical to growth at BCI.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Production

• Read and follow batch ticket instructions: understand material/equipment needs.
• Organize and kit raw materials.
• Accurately measure, weight, dispense, & blend wet and dry chemicals into a mixture.
• Understand & use appropriate PPE; perform tasks in a safe, neat, & orderly manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Warehouse

• Locate & transport material to/from warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, manually, and/or with other material handling equipment as needed.
• Ensure organization & cleanliness of warehouse and production areas.
• Unload/load trailers considering product classification & weight distribution.
• Work independently to log, scan, and track inventory by product and location.

In addition, this position will work in one or more of the following specialties depending on individual aptitude and company needs:

• Facilities and Process Maintenance
• Transportation, CDL Class A or B (back-up driver)
• Process Water & Solid Waste Operations
• Environmental, Health, Safety, & Sustainability
• Inventory Management
• Quality Testing and/or Solution Preparation

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Able to read, understand, follow, & write technical information on batch tickets & other records.
• Forklift certification & experience safely operating a forklift in a chemical manufacturing facility preferred with the ability to become forklift certified required.
• Familiar with chemical manufacturing safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) preferred with the ability to learn and safely use PPE required.
• Certified to wear a respirator preferred with the ability to become certified & willing to wear as needed (typically infrequent) required.
• Able to safely & consistently lift & move 50+ lbs.
• Able to work overtime (typically < 2 hours/day) as needed.
• Authorized to work in USA and pass background check.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (minimum requirement)
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping, and/or inventory management preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• This position primarily operates out of our manufacturing and warehouse locations. Workers weigh raw materials, operate forklifts and mixing machinery, monitor mixing processes, and adhere to safety and chemical hygiene protocols to produce consistent chemical compounds. Work areas can be noisy, are primarily indoors, and have limited climate controls.
• This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. The employee must be able to lift and move items up to 50+ pounds independently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance and/or equipment.
• Travel requirements: This position may require occasional travel between BCI's manufacturing, warehouse, and other locations.
