Flexo Press Operator
Location: St. Louis, MO
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site | Shift Options Available
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay + Shift Premiums (if applicable)
About the Opportunity
We're partnering with a well-established printing and packaging operation to find a skilled Flexo Press Operator who takes pride in running a clean, efficient press and producing high-quality work.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that speed matters—but quality matters more. If you've ever caught a color issue before anyone else noticed or take satisfaction in a smooth, dialed-in run, you'll fit right in here.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining a flexographic press while ensuring quality and efficiency throughout the process.
- Set up and operate flexographic printing presses based on job specifications
- Perform make-ready processes and ensure jobs are set up correctly before production
- Monitor print quality throughout runs and make adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime
- Complete changeovers and basic machine adjustments
- Maintain proper documentation, including scanning and job records
- Keep your press and work area clean and organized
- Work closely with Quality and Supervisors to approve startups
- Direct and support Press Assistants as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and operational standards
What We're Looking For
We're not looking for someone to just "run a machine." We want someone who understands the process and takes ownership of their work.
- 1–2+ years of flexo press experience preferred
- Ability to read job orders and follow detailed instructions
- Strong attention to detail, especially with color and print quality
- Comfortable troubleshooting equipment and making adjustments
- Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler accurately
- Familiarity with small tools and basic computer systems
- Strong communication skills and team mindset
- Willingness to cross-train and grow within the operation
Physical & Work Environment
This is a production environment, not a desk job.
- Standing for extended periods (up to 10+ hours)
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Exposure to noise (PPE required) and machine vibration
- Requires attention to fine detail and color differentiation
Why This Role Stands Out
This isn't just another press operator job. It's an opportunity to be part of a team that values quality, consistency, and people who take ownership of their work.
If you're looking for a place where your experience actually matters—and where you're trusted to do your job right—this is worth a conversation.
