Shape quality from the first roll to final release

As a Flexographic Plate Manufacturing Utility Technician, you are the right hand to the Flexo Lead Extruder Operator. Your day begins by reviewing work orders, staging raw materials in SAP, and preparing the line so production starts on time and runs safely. Throughout your shift, you help keep the process steady and products on spec while making the best use of our manufacturing assets.

A day in the life

  • Start up by loading/unloading stock stands and setting up splicers, slitters, marking systems, and lasers for the scheduled job.
  • Step in to operate coater stations whenever the Lead Operator is away to keep the line moving.
  • Replenish the production area with the exact raw materials listed on the work order and record all movements in SAP.
  • Keep the area audit‑ready—clean, organized, and operating safely and productively.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and complete daily, documented equipment inspections to keep everything serviceable.
  • Set up, run, clean, disassemble, and remove equipment at job end; make ordinary adjustments as needed.
  • Perform precise manual tasks and adjust delicate instruments; capture data in the designated database.
  • Operate fork trucks, powered/manual material handling equipment, and overhead hoists confidently and safely.
  • Label, package, and maintain all hazardous materials in full accordance with EPA requirements.
  • Run in‑process and release testing per SOPs/special instructions; translate results and corrections into a clear format and record electronically.
  • Model safety, customer service, and productivity leadership; contribute to peer certification efforts and meet attendance guidelines.

Also part of your week

  • Coordinate input material deliveries to keep the line supplied.
  • Participate in Safety/Housekeeping Audits.
  • Take on other duties as business needs evolve.

What you bring

  • Mechanical aptitude with a hands‑on mindset.
  • Clear, professional communication.
  • Comfort with computers, SAP/data entry, and basic systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Approximately 3–12 months to reach consistent quality and output performance.
