Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 INDEFINITE EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a FLIGHT SERVICES SPECIALIST T32 INDEFINITE Position Description Number D1458000 and is part of the NH 157th Operations Group National Guard. Clarification from the agency This is an Indefinite/Temporary appointment with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Current Technicians selected will retain the appointment status currently in i.e. Permanent or Indef and will be placed on a temporary promotion or appropriate personnel action if selected for this position. Area II or Area III will be appointed Indefinite/Temporary status. Conversion to permanent status may be accomplished when permanent funding is approved.
Duties Help Responsible for coordinating and maintaining liaison with military, federal, and local agencies concerning airspace utilization, flying operations, aircraft emergencies, search and rescue operations, and natural disasters. This full-performance level position provides direct support to unit and other military and civilian aircrews during scheduled and unscheduled flying and ground activities. The incumbent works independently on standard and extended and/or rotating shifts to provide aircrews with information and assistance necessary for planning and conducting safe flight operations.
Requirements Help Conditions of employment NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard required prior to the effective date of placement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
Qualifications Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 INDEFINITE excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades E5 to E6 Selectees must be within the military grades listed in this job announcement prior to the effective date of placement into the technician position. Compatible Military Assignments: Trainee to 1C771
GENERAL EXPERIENCE Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Must have at least 24 months experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground, or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
It is not necessary for applicants to possess the MOS/AFSC listed as compatible to the position in order to apply, however, applicant must meet the qualifications for the position. It is applicants responsibility to acquire a compatible MOS/AFSC within 1 year of appointment. Coordinate with your units training representative to determine whether or not you can qualify for a specific MOS/AFSC and/or receive training within the 1 year timeframe before accepting the position.
