Float Physician — Family Medicine (Auburn & Grass Valley, CA)

Pay: $155/hr (0–9 years' experience) – $165/hr (10+ years)  |  Job Type: Full-time or Part-time, paid hourly  |  Schedule: Monday–Friday, regular pre-set schedule communicated in advance — no nights, no weekends, no hospital call

Hiring now — immediate start. At least two openings.

Highlights

  • No patient panel. Practice medicine without panel-continuity burden — see patients across two clinic locations to increase access and cover provider leave
  • Predictable, regular schedule communicated in advance — this is not unpredictable locum work
  • Ideal for physicians who want variety, semi-retired physicians, or those seeking part-time outpatient work
  • Future opportunity to work at a brand-new health center opening in Rocklin in March 2027 (opening 8–5 or closing 9:30–6:30 shifts; 10-hour shifts available for on-call only)
  • Mission-driven, team-based integrated care model

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, financially stable Tribal Federally Qualified Health Center that has served Native American and underserved communities across Placer and Nevada counties for roughly 50 years, with clinics in Auburn and Grass Valley and a third opening in South Placer County in early 2027.

What You'll Do

  • Provide full-scope outpatient family medicine — adult and pediatric primary care, chronic disease management, and minor procedures — across the Auburn and Grass Valley clinics
  • Increase patient access and provide coverage when staff providers are on leave
  • Work within a team-based, integrated care model alongside behavioral health, nursing, and pharmacy
  • Document in eClinicalWorks (eCW) using SOAP format

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with an active California medical license (required upfront)
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine (required for all medical providers)
  • Current DEA registration
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in direct primary care delivery
  • BLS certification
  • Flexibility to work across two clinic sites

Good to Know

  • Paid hourly; not eligible for overtime
  • Credentialing takes ~90 days and is completed prior to start
  • Please indicate whether you prefer 8-hour or 10-hour shifts when applying
  • Indian Preference applies per the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, U.S. Code §472–473); otherwise an Equal Opportunity Employer
