    Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) –– Salem, VA

     

    A healthcare organization is seeking a versatile and experienced Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care across multiple inpatient units. This opportunity is ideal for nursing professionals who enjoy variety in their work, adapt quickly to changing environments, and are committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

    About the Role

    The Float Pool RN will support various clinical departments based on operational needs while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, adaptability, and the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse healthcare teams.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver direct patient care across multiple assigned units and specialties

    • Assess, monitor, and evaluate patient conditions while identifying changes requiring intervention

    • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards

    • Develop and implement individualized care plans to support patient recovery and well-being

    • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care

    • Communicate significant patient status changes and clinical concerns to appropriate providers

    • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough patient documentation

    • Educate patients and family members regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions

    • Promote patient safety, quality care, and compliance with established clinical protocols

    • Adapt to varying patient populations, workflows, and unit-specific practices while maintaining continuity of care

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or ability to obtain

    • Previous acute care nursing experience preferred

    • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills

    • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced and changing environments

    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
