GENERAL SUMMARY: Provides coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care in the inpatient hospital setting. Independently provides dialysis treatment in various acute settings, including but not limited to the emergency department (ED), post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), intensive care unit (ICU), and designated dialysis treatment areas. This requires the ability to travel between multiple hospital sites on short notice and adapt quickly to reassigned locations based on patient volume, staff availability, or clinical urgency. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and education for acute dialysis patients and their families. Communicates effectively with the healthcare team to share pertinent information and participate in the development and implementation of care plans. Reports to the Dialysis Nurse Manager or Administrator of the Dialysis Program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Current State of Michigan RN licensure required. Minimum 12 months of RN experience, including at least 3 months of experience caring for maintenance hemodialysis patients. Experience in high-acuity hospital settings, particularly ICU or ED, preferred. Basic computer skills and familiarity with multiple EMR systems preferred. Self-directed and able to work independently across multiple hospital environments. Flexible, team-oriented, and committed to meeting fluctuating staffing needs. Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates initiative, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and customer service excellence. Accepts and respects diversity without judgment. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Active State of Michigan RN license. Current BLS certification required per HFHS policy.
