Floater Cleaner

The Floater Cleaner is a critical support role responsible for maintaining cleanliness and service standards across multiple customer sites for Velociti Services. This position is designed to provide immediate coverage for call-offs, open shifts, vacations, staffing shortages, and special cleaning needs.

This role requires a high level of flexibility, reliability, and adaptability, as work locations and schedules may change daily based on operational needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide janitorial coverage across multiple assigned Velociti Services customer sites
• Fill in for employee call-offs, no-shows, vacations, and open shifts
• Perform general cleaning and sanitation tasks, including:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
  • Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms
  • Emptying trash and replacing liners
  • Dusting offices, furniture, and common areas
  • Cleaning breakrooms and shared spaces
  • Restocking supplies (soap, paper products, etc.)
  • Cleaning glass, doors, and interior windows
• Follow site-specific cleaning procedures and client requirements
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to safety standards
• Ensure all work meets Velociti Services quality expectations
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding site needs, issues, or delays
• Travel between job sites as assigned within designated territory
• Maintain punctual attendance and readiness for short-notice assignments
• Accurately record time worked and job site assignments

Required Qualifications:

• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred, not required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation is required (travel between multiple sites is mandatory)
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment region
• Strong dependability and ability to respond to short-notice coverage needs
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must meet all client-specific and company onboarding requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Stand, walk, and move for extended periods of time
• Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Push/pull cleaning equipment and carts
• Work in a variety of environments including offices, schools, industrial, and commercial facilities

Work Environment:

Floater Cleaners may be assigned to a variety of Velociti Services customer locations, including:

• Commercial office buildings
• Educational facilities
• Industrial and manufacturing sites
• Distribution and warehouse environments
• Other contracted customer locations

Schedule & Flexibility Requirement:

This is a true floater position. Employees must be available to:

• Cover last-minute call-offs and open shifts
• Work varied schedules with minimal notice
• Be reassigned between multiple job sites as needed
• Work early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Reliability, responsiveness, and flexibility are essential to success in this role.
