Floater Janitorial Position

Position Summary

The Floater Janitorial position provides cleaning and janitorial coverage at various client locations based on operational and staffing needs. This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday on second shift and may provide coverage for employee absences, open positions, special projects, and other staffing needs.

Up to 40 hours per week may be available; however, hours are not guaranteed. Work assignments, locations, and hours may vary from week to week based on business needs. Employees who have greater availability and flexibility to work at different locations may have more opportunities for available hours.

Pay Rate

$19.50 per hour

Essential Responsibilities

The Floater Janitorial employee may be responsible for:

• Providing janitorial and cleaning coverage at various assigned client locations.
• Performing routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms.
• Emptying trash and recycling.
• Dusting, wiping, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Cleaning offices, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Restocking restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Assisting with special cleaning projects and additional cleaning requests.
• Following company cleaning procedures, client requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Properly using and maintaining cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
• Reporting maintenance concerns, supply needs, safety concerns, or building issues to management.
• Communicating with management regarding availability, scheduling, assignments, and any issues at assigned locations.
• Completing assigned work within expected timeframes and quality standards.

Schedule & Availability

• Primarily Monday through Friday, second shift.
• Work hours may vary depending on operational and coverage needs.
• Up to 40 hours per week may be available, but hours are not guaranteed.
• Work locations and assignments may change based on staffing needs.
• Employees may be offered assignments at multiple locations.
• Flexibility with schedule and location is an important part of the Floater position.
• Employees with greater availability and flexibility may have more opportunities to receive additional hours.
• Short-notice coverage may occasionally be available.

Transportation Requirements

• Reliable transportation is required.
• Employees must be able to travel to different assigned work locations as needed.
• Employees may be assigned to more than one location depending on operational and coverage needs.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
• Reliable and dependable attendance.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to adapt to different buildings, assignments, and cleaning requirements.
• Ability to follow instructions, safety requirements, and company procedures.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work at different locations.
• Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and performing repetitive cleaning motions.
• Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, trash, and equipment.
• Safely operating standard janitorial equipment.

The amount of work available will depend on business and staffing needs. This position does not guarantee a specific number of hours per week. Greater flexibility with work locations, schedules, and short-notice coverage may result in more opportunities for available hours.
