Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

On-Call Rotation Required

BG Staffing is currently seeking a Floating Apartment Maintenance Technician to provide temporary support at two apartment communities in Lancaster and Newark, Ohio. This role is ideal for a hands-on, dependable maintenance professional who can step in and support the Lead Maintenance Technician/Supervisor while the permanent hiring process is underway.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the quality, safety, and appearance of the communities and ensuring residents receive prompt, professional service.

Position Overview

As a Floating Maintenance Technician, you will rotate between two properties, providing day-to-day maintenance support and helping keep operations running smoothly. You will work closely with the on-site leadership team to complete work orders, assist with apartment turns, and maintain common areas and grounds.

Weekly Rotation:

• 2 days per week at the Lancaster community
• 2 days per week at the Newark community
• 1 flex day assigned based on workload needs across both properties
• This flex day is typically determined at the start of the week (or the prior week) to align with each community's operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
• Troubleshoot and repair appliances
• Complete make-ready / apartment turn work efficiently and thoroughly
• Maintain grounds and common areas, including trash pickup
• Respond to assigned work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Accurately document completed work with detailed notes and photos using a smartphone-based work order system
• Support the Lead Technician/Supervisor as needed to ensure property standards are met

Note: HVAC experience is not required for this role.

Schedule & On-Call Requirements

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• One-hour lunch break daily
• Mandatory on-call rotation:
• One week on / one week off
• Covers both communities during on-call weeks

Requirements

• Previous apartment or residential maintenance experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks
• Must have your own tools
• Smartphone required for receiving work orders and documenting completed tasks with notes and photos
• Reliable transportation required to travel between Lancaster and Newark locations
• Ability to work independently with strong time management skills
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
